(I was originally gonna make this a simple Status Update, but so much stuff happened that it really deserves its own Journal Entry instead.)

(Also, language warning. Sorry about that, but I'm just really frustrated with what I just had to put up with today. I need to let it all out, you know?)

...Boy, my computer really decided to shit itself today.
It installed an update last night, but today it wouldn't start. It was stuck on the Windows Startup screen for a really long time with no signs of actual progress, so I figured it was frozen and had to turn it off and on again. When I turned it back on, it tried to repair itself because it had failed to start up correctly. This took like half an hour, only for it to say "oops we couldn't fix it", so it shut down again.

Right after that, I tried turning it on once again, and then it worked just fine. I don't know why it fucked up so badly the first two times, but third time's the charm I guess.

However... When I went to play Chao Resort Island (a new Chao-focused Sonic fangame that came out the other day, it's really good), the application was gone, it was just the "read me before playing" file. Thankfully I still had the Zip file, so I re-extracted it, but of course I still lost my save data. The good news is I didn't have much progress to lose in the first place, but it was still a pain in the ass that it happened at all.

Next, I tried to open up Google Chrome to browse the Internet. But no matter how many times I tried, it wouldn't start up. I planned to restart my laptop again in hopes of somehow fixing this issue, but I found out that my computer already wanted to update itself AGAIN, so I was forced to sit through that shit.

And then, after it restarted, it wanted to update A SECOND TIME IN A ROW. For fuck's sake!

This whole process up to that point took about an hour at least.
Now, I was really pissed off.

And even after all that was done with, Chrome still refused to open. So, I decided that my only option was to open FireFox instead, and try reinstalling Chrome from its website. And this did the trick. After the refreshingly short installation process, Chrome opened up automatically, and my browsing history was still intact.

But then, I came to the realization that AdBlock was gone.
Apparently, it was corrupted, so I had to fix that. Thankfully, the reparation process was quick and easy.

And so, at last, I'm able to log in to DeviantArt and share my shitty experience with all of you guys. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention... While I was dealing with the computer trouble, a little bug somehow got into my bedroom and kept trying to fly in front of my face. So yeah, that certainly didn't help matters.

Hopefully, I don't run into any more problems after this. The rest of my files seemed fine, so hopefully this was the end of it. What a hassle...

UPDATE: Turns out there was one last thing to do, at least for today. I had to reinstall Adobe Flash Player, too. I still had it on Chrome, apparently, but it wasn't actually working on websites. Thankfully, it didn't take long to fix.

UPDATE 2: Nope! I can't seem to catch a break. Apparently, the Adobe Flash Player download gives you two other apps that I didn't want in the slightest. One of them is some antivirus called McAfee, which I quickly got rid of since it does intrusive scans on a schedule and interrupted me to tell me to buy their products because my "computer is at risk" or some shit. And the other one is some weird thing called True Key, apparently it's a password manager or something, but I don't even care, I just wanted it gone. So I uninstalled that too, but while it was being uninstalled, it kept opening up Chrome without my permission and redirecting me to the True Key official website... That's some bullshit right there, and right before I was gonna go to sleep too... I wouldn't have even known about this if McAfee didn't randomly pop up in my face because it's scheduled to do scans at 1 in the fucking morning. God damn...

So, over the summer I want to get started on an Undertale fangame. It takes place in an AU where Asriel escaped from the humans who attacked him on the surface, and therefore survives. You'd play as him, and it'd just be a fun little experience where you could explore the world of the Underground and see over time just how much the story is affected by this one alteration...

Some notable changes include:

-Flowey doesn't exist (kinda obvious)
-Asgore isn't trying to kill humans for their Souls (because he wanted to wage war on humanity because Asriel was killed, right?)
-Asgore and Toriel stay together
-The other humans that fall into the Underground aren't killed (kinda goes with the second one on the list, and they might appear as NPC characters maybe?)

Also, I'm planning to have this game take place during different points of Asriel's life.

The Prologue and Chapter 1 will be for his childhood.
Chapter 2 is for his late teens/early adulthood.
Chapter 3, Chapter 4, and the Epilogue will be a bit later into his adulthood when he takes over as the King.

This might change as I come up with ideas, but this is the current plan for right now.

Although I haven't started on making the actual game yet, I have made some custom sprites for things such as the title logo, overworld sprites, and talking animations. Yes, plenty of talking animations... (They're really fun to make) XD

I plan on using GameMaker Studio when I do get started, since I think there's a free version and Undertale itself was apparently made with GameMaker.
I need some help finding out what to use for making custom music, though. Are there are good, free programs that are for creating/editing music? Please let me know.

If I do end up going through with this project, I just wanna say that this will be my first game ever (excluding the crappy "games" we made in my Digital Apps class at school using GameSalad) and I'm really excited! I hope to get started soon, once my laptop is finally fixed... It's been 2 months, dammit.

Anyway, I plan on calling this game "Asriel's Tale", please let me know if this name is already being used by someone else.
Also let me know if my AU is pretty much exactly the same as an existing one, so that I can try to make alterations to my idea and make it more unique.

Thanks for reading!

I'm sure that by now, most of you have seen the new starter Pokemon for Sun and Moon, right? We got Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio. I'm just going to share my thoughts, opinions, hopes, and predictions for these Pokemon here.

To start things off, though... Dang, these have got to be the most controversial Pokemon starters ever made. Some people love all three. Some people hate all three. Some people love one, but hate the others, others are simply neutral. Some people love two of them, but not the last one, etc... There were so many different reactions, and the opinions seem all over the place. Yikes...

So, what do I think about the starters?

Well... Rowlet seems to be the most loved by the community, but it's personally my least favorite. I admit its leaf bowtie is cute, but I don't like the egg-shaped design. However, I do appreciate having a grass type bird starter now, to go along with Torchic and Piplup. Also, I think it's cool that it is both grass and flying type; now, Bulbasaur doesn't have to be the only dual-typed first-stage starter! It makes me wonder, though... Will it keep this typing for its Evolutions, or could it drop the Flying type for something else later on? I can't say for sure.

Moving on to Litten, I love this little fire cat! Some people are joking about how it looks like Shadow the Hedgehog, and that it seems "edgy" or whatever, but that doesn't bother me. Also, according to the whole "Chinese Zodiac" theory for fire starters, Litten fits in with the tiger. However, I'm personally hoping that it doesn't actually become just a full-on tiger when it Evolves. I think it would be interesting if Litten's Evolutions were more agile, with a slender build as opposed to being just a bulky powerhouse. And I mean, Litten would still be able to represent the tiger in terms of the zodiac theory; after all, Cyndaquil apparently represents the rat while Fennekin represents the dog, so it doesn't have to be exact.
In terms of the Evolutionary typing... People seem to think it will be either Fire/Dark or Fire/Poison. Both of these seem possible. Its color scheme of black and red seems to suggest Fire/Dark for some people, but its facial markings resemble a symbol used for Sulfur in alchemy* which could suggest Fire/Poison. While I can't really decide which typing seems more likely, I will say one thing...

*en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sul…

Based on the whole Sulfur symbol thing, I really want Litten's final Evolution to be named "Sulpurr". That would be perfect. :D
But now I wonder... What would the middle stage be called...? Charcat? (Charcoal + Cat) I dunno... We'll find out eventually.

Now, for the final starter, Popplio. So many people hate it, and that makes me really sad... I love this guy a lot! Popplio is so cute, and seems so happy! A sea lion for the water starter is a good choice, and fits with the theme of all the previous water starters (they are all aquatic animals that can also go onto land). I also love how it has this sort of circus performer feel to it. It adds to its personality! I don't understand why people hate Popplio so much. Sure, it looks a bit silly, but that's kind of the point. You don't have to make it seem like such a horrible thing, because it really isn't. At least there are some other people like me, though, who actually like this guy. Anyway...
For Popplio's Evolutions, I can clearly see it becoming a Water/Fairy type. It seems to work with the whole circus theme it has going for it. I like to imagine its Evolutions having certain traits of clowns and jesters. Perhaps the ears could change shape to resemble a jester's hat? And maybe it could also gain some markings on its face to resemble clown makeup. Hopefully the design doesn't go too overboard, though, so that the Pokemon doesn't become unappealing (especially if you have a clown phobia).
As for possible names for the Evolutions... I got nothing. Apparently Popplio's English name comes from Hawaiian words. So, assuming that trend continues, it will be very hard for me to make any guesses.

And that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the Sun/Moon starters at the moment. When the game actually comes out, I'm not sure if I'll choose Litten or Popplio, but by then we should know the official Evolutions. That will help me decide.

So, yesterday I was hanging out with a friend. We were playing our games, chatting about stuff, and just having a good time. The game I was playing was Pokemon Y. And, when I play Pokemon, I always have an urge to check the GTS. I can't help but take a look and see what ridiculous trades people are offering, as well as some silly nicknames on certain Pokemon. And that is where the story began.

I decided to look up Skiddo on the GTS. I wasn't expecting too much, aside from the usual Legendary-beggars that you find just about everywhere. And sure enough, there were quite a few of them here, too. However, one of the offered Skiddo caught my eye. Why?

The nickname.

"Asriel".

As someone who is somewhat obsessed with Undertale right now, seeing a Pokemon named after Asriel Dreemurr (my favorite character from the game) was a bit tempting for me. But, there was one problem.

This person was one of the Legendary-beggars. They were asking for a Jirachi. A JIRACHI! So, I showed it to my friend and we laughed about it a little, but on the inside, I'm all like... "I gotta have that Skiddo, dangit." Yeah, I could have just gotten another Skiddo on my own and given it the same nickname, but where's the fun in that? I was gonna do it. I was gonna get myself that Jirachi, and then Skiddo.

So, my next stop on the GTS was, of course, Jirachi. To my surprise, there was actually a bunch of them on there. Shinies, mostly. Probably hacked...? But, this gave me an idea, and I remember telling my friend the plan. I was gonna put up a Pokemon, asking for Jirachi. But, of course, I know better than to just put up some garbage-mon and expect results. I had to make my own sacrifice. So, I put up a Shiny, Level 100, female Venusaur that I got from Wonder Trade this one time. Might have been hacked, too, but whatever.

After that, I passed the time with some Wonder Trades. Didn't really get anything noteworthy, but it wasn't long before I checked back on the GTS, and found that someone had already completed my offered trade. Sure enough, it was one of those suspicious Shiny Jirachi. I mean, seriously. Where did they all come from? Did someone just mass-produce these things through hacking, and then gave them away? I dunno.

But anyway, I went back to Asriel the Skiddo on the GTS, and gave the person the Jirachi. The Skiddo was Level 1, of course, but I didn't care. Also, the person had claimed that this Skiddo had its Hidden Ability, but this was a lie. But, I didn't care. I now had my precious goat child, in Pokemon form. And, on top of that...

I probably made that other person really happy. I'm not sure if they were even expecting to actually get that Jirachi they asked for. This is why I really don't have any regrets here.

So anyway, yeah. This is a funny Pokemon story I can probably look back on in the future. Right now, I've been training Asriel quite a bit, and I've been playing with him in Pokemon-Amie, too. Even if he isn't really "rare" or "valuable", I'm still happy to have the little guy on my team.

The only bad thing that might come out of this is that... Well... People like me might very well be the reason why Legendary-beggars still exist. They know that, even if it is very slim, there is still a chance that someone out there might do their ridiculous trade. (Except for those people asking for special event Pokemon that can't even be traded on the GTS...) And that's why there are so many of those trade offers on the GTS, which seem to outnumber the normal trades at this point. I guess we encourage them with our generosity. Oops...
